Today there are many skyscrapers within the United States and around the globe. However, in their early development they were primarily found in Chicago and New York. The two cities often pushed each other to continue building the towers, often at competition with one another, creating the skylines seen today. Globally, skyscrapers also mark city skylines and the continual development of skyscrapers is most prominently found outside America.
